busybeeme

Today was a special day. Today seemed like it was planned up in the heavens, crafted and carved by God Himself just so it could happen at that exact moment; so perfect yet so simple.

Today was Zen-like.

Today I was in the lift with Mr. Piyush Gupta (aherm*spellcheck please…), CEO of Citibank Malaysia. The whole CEO aura was surrounding the man clad in that navy-blue suit and perfectly pressed slacks. His greying beard was so well trimmed as though every single strand was measured with extraordinary precision before being snipped by a golden pair of scissors. His pearly white teeth showed when he presented his humble smile to the others in the lift. The entire cube compartment fell silent; as if its inhabitants were giving respect to an angel disguised in human form. As he left the lift on the 18th floor--home to all the financial controllers that are responsible for Citibank’s global success, his footsteps resonated across the long hallway, leaving only but a hint of echo inside the elevator that we were still in. We then headed up to the 35th floor. The day went back to normal.

That was last Wednesday.

Oh yeah, for those of you who aren’t aware, I got myself a job at Citibank KL. Post? Collections Officer or in layman’s term, a debt collector of sort for the world’s largest asset holding company -- Citigroup. It has been three weeks since I first stepped into my office on Level 9-three weeks of familiarising myself with the computer system, telephones, and colleagues. All I can say at this point of time is:-so far so good. The job is interesting, the pay is decent and the co-workers are just great (‘cept for a few bad apples). So I could say that I’m relatively happy with my job-HAHA.

That would explain my sudden silence on freefall. Sorry guys for not being a consistent modern-day blogger. I am trying my best yeah?

Hmmm….other Kim updates:-

1.) I’m currently taking drum lessons with Yamaha, and my teacher is absolutely fantastic. Mr. Dylan Joseph is not only cool and talented; he has tattoos and piercings all over as well! Sweet….

2.) I just caught Puteri Gunung Ledang the Musical – the play Su’s in. Really, really
awesome show! Plus, we all got the American Express Platinum cardholder’s VIP
stall seats simply because the gay guy at the counter was really nice. Yeap. So we
saw the entire musical up close. The King of Majapahit totally rocks!

3.) Tomorrow-the 22nd of February 2006. I’ll be turning 21. Adulthood. My Big Bad
Birthday. Yup. Here’s one of the downside of not living in the hostel anymore. No
more extravagant parties or gifts—nah…I just hate the thought not being able
to celebrate it with my ASEAN family.

That’s all for now. Got work tomorrow. Stay free – hah! How ironic. :)
